Toolkit

Following the announcement on March 27, 2019, the new brand will be implemented in phases. We have a number of the assets in development and in the meantime, we have select files available for you to begin with the transition. A full suite of materials will be available in late June, including stationery, business, templates and more.

  • Email signature
The university’s email signature tool enables you to create a standard and professional email signature that follows the university’s brand and editorial style guidelines.
  • Powerpoint templates

There are two powerpoint templates available for download. As we move forward with the brand implementation, additional templates will be added.

  • Logo downloads

To help you get started with your new brand updates, we have the Ontario Tech University primary logo available for download. We are refining additional logo files, including faculty lockups. These will be available for download in the coming weeks. If you have a time-sensitive need for an alternative logo file, contact us.

We've developed a quick reference guide to assist with logo usage. A more comprehensive visual identity guide will be available in the future.

  • Ubuntu font download

Ubuntu is a free, open-source font that can be downloaded from the Ubuntu website

There are many tutorials online on how you can install new fonts, including one at How-To Geek , which walks through installing a new font on Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems.

  • Social media

    The university’s official handles are:

    • Twitter: Ontariotech_u
    • Facebook: Ontariotechu
    • Instagram: Ontariotechu

    Our official hashtag is #OntarioTech

These handles must be used when referencing the university’s social media or for tagging the university in your social media posts.

If you or your program area have social media accounts that use UOIT, you will need to update your username to reflect our new brand. We are using the naming convention OT_~ for all social media accounts associated with the university. For example, if your username was @uoitcomputerscience, you need to update this to be @ot_computerscience.

Don’t forget to change the name of your channel as well. We are using the following naming convention: Ontario Tech University Faculty of ______. For example, Ontario Tech University Faculty of Science would be the correct name to use.

Any instances of UOIT on your social media channels will need to be changed to Ontario Tech University or Ontario Tech. Make sure to check the About or Description sections of your social media profiles, and update your profile picture to the new shield emblem. An updated version of the shield along with the new logo is available on our logo downloads page.

If you need help with a new name/handle for your social media channels, or any other social media related questions, contact socialmedia@uoit.ca.
