Page types and layout options

This section provides information about the available page types in the CMS (landing/index pages and content/regular pages) and the various options for content layout on each page type. An example of a faculty profile page (exclusive to faculty websites) is also included.

Content or regular page

Content can be displayed in various layouts, or content types. You can insert multiple content types within a single page. They will appear in the order that is listed in the "Content type" checkbox selection (in the CMS). Theoretically you could insert ALL content types on a single page, but this is not recommended. The pages below show examples of each content type/layout option.

Landing or index page

A landing page (usually the index page of a folder) serves as an introduction to the folder subsection. While any type of content can be placed on an index page (using the regular content types), the CMS also provides a landing/index page template option. A templated landing page will show hyperlinks to different pages, displayed in a button, list, thumbnails, or card grid layout.

Landing page links can be auto-generated or manually created

On auto-generated landing pagesthe CMS will scan all pages in the current folder and automatically create links for them on the page. Links can be displayed in a list format, as columns of buttons, or with thumbnail images and descriptions.

Hyperlinks on manually-created landing pages can be manually set to link to any page or file. There are various options available for buttons or cards on manually-created landing pages, including changing the number of button columns, adding icons, button subheadings, and custom Google Analytics click tracking.

Faculty profile page

Faculty websites also include faculty profile page templates. Some or all sections can be included on a faculty member's profile page.
